Deputy Director General of Housing, Catalan Government
Josep Casas Miralles, has held various technical positions of responsibility in the administration of the Catalan Government, and is currently Deputy Director General of Housing.
Expert in the management, the design and implementation of public policies, especially in housing, architecture and urban improvement ones, he is responsible for the promotion and supervision of the Territorial Plan for Housing as the main long-term instrument for planning and programming housing policies throughout Catalonia; and for the design and implementation of urban improvement policies in Catalonia, through the neighbourhood law and other initiatives currently underway such as projects funded through the Next Generation funds.
Architect (2001), Master in Urban Management and Valuation (2014), Postgraduate in Urbanism (2009) and Postgraduate in Feasibility Analysis of Real Estate Operations (2005), he has participated as a speaker in numerous conferences and seminars in national and international level, both academically and professionally, and is co-author of articles on housing policies.
He is co-director of the postgraduate course in housing policy at the UNESCO Chair in Housing at Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona, Spain.
