Transmission New Projects Department Director, IPTO
Michail Chatzipanos is the Director of the Transmission New Projects Department of IPTO. Mr. Chatzipanos started his career in IBM in 2007, as an Onassis Foundation scholar holding a diploma with honours in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an MBA degree from Athens University of Economics and Business. In IBM, he worked as a business consultant through various industries within the Global Business Services Department, joining various Greek and international projects.
In 2011, he joined IPTO where he went through various roles within the Transmission New Project Department. Since 2016, he has been in charge of the Cable transmission lines sub-section Since March 2018, as head of Transmission Lines Studies section, he also acted as a project manager of the Crete-Peloponnese interconnection and the Cyclades Interconnection (Phase D) projects. Since 2021, he has been in charge of the Project Management and Technical Infrastructure branch.
He is PMP certified and an active member of CIGRE. He has taken part in study committees and working groups and has published relevant papers mainly focusing on the knowledge area of Insulated Power Cables and Interconnections. He speaks fluently 6 languages.
