Obtained MSc in Civil Engineering and PhD in Offshore Engineering at University of Manchester, UK. Mike has worked with Shell for over 30 years in a range of roles, including R&D and senior roles in the execution of major projects. These roles included Structural Lead for a US$22 billion Gas Project offshore Russia and Technical Authority responsibilities for the Prelude Floating LNG Project in Australia. Mike played a pioneering role in the development of FLNG technology for offshore gas fields and holds several Patents in these technologies.
After retiring from Shell in 2013 Mike was appointed Professor of Offshore Structures at University of Western Australia. In 2014 Mike was appointed to the Board of Directors of Cyprus Hydrocarbons Company (CHC), a position that he retains today along-side his role at the University of Western Australia.
