Panayotis GLAVINIS is a Professor of International Economic Law and the Dean at the Faculty of Law of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the same Faculty, an LLM on International Law and a PhD on International Construction Contracts (EJA, Paris 1993) from Paris 2 University Panthéon-Assas, where he was also granted the habilitation à diriger des recherches. He teaches International Trade Law, International Investment Law, Energy Law, Financing for Development and International Business Transactions at undergraduate and graduate level. He acts as arbitrator, mediator and counsel in domestic and international cases, including construction and State-to-Investor arbitrations under the ICC Rules, the UNCITRAL Rules and the ICSID Rules. On 19.12.2019, his most recent book on The Mechanisms of Rebalancing of Power in the International Economic System (Papazissis Publ.) was granted a prize from the Academy of Athens. From 2004 to 2018, he was a Member to the Commission on Arbitration and A.D.R. of the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris). From 1st October 2011 to 19 June 2012, he served as legal counsel to the Prime Minister’s Office. From 2018 to 2020, he run a research programme on Integrating Energy Market in the Wider Europe.
